I’m James Mountain—a cybersecurity leader with a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity & Information Assurance, and I’m passionate about protecting people, systems, and the public trust. Professionally, I work in cybersecurity and infrastructure, focusing on practical, business-first security that actually holds up in the real world. In my community, I serve on the Village Board of Trustees in Coal Valley, where I’ve learned how to listen, build consensus, and deliver results that matter to residents. I’m a Democrat because I believe government should be accountable, transparent, and work for everyday people—and I’m proudly pro-union because strong unions help protect wages, safety, and dignity for working families. Most importantly, I’m a family man at heart, grounded by the people I love and the life we’ve built together (including our very full house with pets), and I bring that same sense of responsibility and care into everything I do.
